The London Irish Graduate Networks' core objective is to provide its members with a ready made professional and social network here in London to help them successfully develop their careers. We wish to attract the top Irish talent studying and working here in London and always welcome new members and new ideas.
The origins of the London Irish Graduate Network lie in Cass Business School when in September 2010 three ambitious Cass students met with two recent graduates, one from Cass Business School, the other from Trinity College Dublin. All new to the city and eager to build their networks, they went about looking for potential societies that met their needs. However they soon realised that what they were specifically looking for didn't exist. They decided to do something about this and so the Cass Irish Business Society (CIBS) was born.
Initially focussed on Cass Business School, the idea was to build a network within the University, whilst also recruiting new Irish graduates external to Cass who wanted to meet similar minded people. The model was simple. Cass Business School would provide the facilities and CIBS would provide the events. However, the board members had plans to scale past the confines of Cass and CIBS was eventually re-branded as the London Irish Graduate Network (LIGN) as a signal that it was open to all Irish students and graduates across London.
Now in its fourth year LIGN continues to expand its reach both here in London and at home in Ireland. Members are derived of students from all of the top London Universities and from all of the major firms in the City of London. The membership of LIGN has grown from that initial three in 2010 to well over a thousand members today and continues to grow year on year.
