So you have to think of a topic – an interesting one it can be about your life or a recent trip or even a short story. An essay has been defined in a variety of ways.

Steps:

So how can you write one? It can be frustrating but it doesn’t have to be. Writing can be fun and easy. First of all, you need to do a research of the topic that you wanted to write about. Utilize the internet and books in the library. Take detailed notes and never ever ignore facts.

Next step is to analyze well written essays. Ask yourself questions such as “why do they sound good or interesting?” or “why does it seem to be real?”. In that way you will see what made them work.

Brainstorming of ideas is the third one. Make sure you have all the list of ideas. Your essay will require your own ideas and brilliance. Take walks and think. Take your time.

Fourth is Picking your thesis statement. Take a look at the ideas you have created. Your thesis is the main point. Pick three of the strongest ideas that relatively supports the topic you chose. This is to let your readers know where you’re going. A thesis statement should not ask a question.

Next on the list is Outlining. Assemble the thoughts you have created into an outline. Use online sentences to describe paragraphs then underneath use bullet points and list of supporting evidence.

Introduction is the next step. Make sure to grab your reader’s attention. Set up the issue and lead into your thesis that will bring your readers into the essay argument. Your title will either hook the reader’s attention or lose it. Skip obvious titles such as “This essay is about”.

Write the body of your essay. Avoid sweeping generalizations like statements such as “____ is the most tragic phenomenon faced by the country today.” And also do not use “I” statements, for instance, “I think”.

Lastly, conclude your essay. Create a graceful exit on your essay by making a quick wrap up sentence. Summarize your points and suggest ways in your conclusion that can be though in a larger sense. A quotation or a twist of logic will do.
